Out of the Ashes Tour 2012

What’s it all about?Out of the Ashes

There  are  no  easy  answers  to  the  questions  of  suffering.  We  all wrestle  with  them at  various  stages  in  our  lives,  and  for  some,  suffering  can  be  a  real  barrier  in  the  search  for  God.  Peter  Gladwin  doesn’t  bring  easy  answers but  he  does  bring  honest  and  real  insights  to  a  difficult  topic.  As  someone  who  has  suffered  more  than  most,  he’s  certainly  qualified  to  speak  on  the  subject. But,  more  than  that,  his  testimony  brings  hope  and  continues  to  point  people  towards  Jesus.

Peter  will  be  touring  the  UK  and  Ireland  throughout  2012.  At  this  stage,  we  are  particularly  focused  on  securing  bookings  between  January  and  April  2012,  but  are willing  to  consider  other  dates.  Please  note  that  due  to  the  content  of  Peter’s testimony,  this  event  unsuitable  for  those  under  15  years  of  age.  The  evening  will  be equally  accessible  and  relevant  to  both  believers  and  to  those  outside  of the  church.

Peter Gladwin

Introducing Peter Gladwin

Peter  Gladwin  was  barely  one  when  a  domestic  fire  left  him  partially  disabled  and horribly  scarred.  The  third  of  nine  children,  he  was  raised  on  a  very  rough council  estate in  Halifax.

Peter  was  always  in  trouble  with  the  police,  in  and  out  of  care  homes,  spending his  time  on  the  streets.  Then  he  was  stabbed  in  a  gang  fight  and  effectively lost  the  use  of  his  right  arm.  Every  relationship  failed.  For  years,  Peter  took  refuge  ingambling,  drinking  and  drugs. Then  at  the  age  of  twenty  four  he  was  the  victim  of  a  hit  and  run.  His  sister  Annette,  four  years  senior,  was  called  after  Peter  contemplated  suicide  at  the age  of  twenty  nine.  The  message  she  shared  was  the  start  of  Peter’s  profound  transformation.

In  1993  he  started  a  two-‐year  Theological  and  Pastoral  course  at  the  Regents  Park  College,  and  met  a  lovely  Swiss  girl  Sarah,  who  is  now  his  wife.  After  years working  in  drug  rehabilitation,  and  as  a  probation  service  officer  in  Hampshire,  he  now  speaks  about  his  experiences  in  order  to  help  others.

Getting  Practical  -‐  What  do  you  need  to  know?

Dates:  The  Out  of  the  Ashes  tour  will  be  running  throughout  2012.  Dates  will  be  allocated  on  a  first  come,  first  served  basis  so  we  recommend  that  you  get your  booking  form  in  as  soon  as  possible.  We  are  currently  focused  on  bookings  between  January  and  April  2012  but  we  are  willing  to  consider  dates  outside  of this.

How  big  does  the  venue  need  to  be?
We’ll  be  including  both  large  and  smaller  churches/venues  in  the  Out  of  the  Ashes  Tour.  We’re  aiming  for  audience  numbers  of  75+  wherever  possible.

How  to  make  a  booking:  Drop  an  email  to  angelamurraywork@gmail.com  to  request  a booking  form  or  give  Angela  a  call  to  discuss  available  dates  (Mobile:  07748 636527). Or download one from here.

What  does  it  cost?
There  is  no  charge  for  this  event.  We  ask  that  venues  take  an  offering/collection  on  the  night  to  help  support  Peter’s  ministry.  Please  note  that  speaking  and writing  is  Peter’s  full-‐time  job  and  so  all  ministry  income  is  used  to  cover  his  own  personal  expenses.

What  will  we  do?
Once  your  booking  is  confirmed,  we  will  work  with  you  to  help  make  the  tour  event  a  success.  We’ll  take  care  of  all  the  travel  and  accommodation  needs  of Peter Gladwin.  We’ll  provide  posters  and  flyers  which  you  can  use  to  advertise  the  event  locally.  We’ll  also  promote  your  event  on  our  tour  website  pages  and via  our own  marketing  channels  so  that  as  many  people  as  possible  turn  up  to  your  event.  If  the  event  is  being  organized  by  a  bookshop,  you  will  be  welcome to sell books  on  the  night.  For  all  other  venues,  Peter  will  bring  a  supply  of  books  to  the  event.

What  will  you  need  to  do?
There  will  be  two  main  areas  of  responsibility  for  you.  The  first  is  to  promote  the  tour  in  your  local  area  -‐  by  displaying  the  publicity  materials  we  provide for  you  and  by  letting  other  churches  know  about  the  event.  Secondly,  you’ll  need  to  ensure  you  have  a  team  of  volunteers  available  on  the  night  to  help  the event  run  smoothly  -‐  people  to welcome,  provide  refreshments  and  look  after  any  other  logistics

What  Other  People  Are  Saying…

“Having listened to Peter, I have been inspired and encouraged by his passion for Jesus and his desire to communicate the impact the gospel can make. His down-to-earth nature, combined with humour, underpinned by biblical truth, make him accessible and a voice that God has and will continue to use to build His Kingdom. I look forward to hearing how his life story will continue to impact many, to God’s glory”
David Judkins, Associate Minister, Andover Baptist Church

“Peter is a passionate and natural communicator. He is a down-to-earth Yorkshire man but theologically trained and a lover of God’s Word and the ‘Living Word’ – Jesus! He can relate to people from widely different backgrounds and mix exciting stories of faith with a deep understanding of revelation through scripture. For encouraging others in evangelism, personal faith-sharing and mission, or to give his testimony or preach the Gospel, he would certainly make an impact!”
Revd Clive G Burnard, BSc MTh, Senior Pastor Team Leader, Andover Baptist Church and Council Member, Baptist Union of Great Britain.
