How? Over the next 10 years, we are aiming to become a:
“Whole-Life missionary disciple-making church”,
- Intentional disciple-making pathway (from WELCOME to INTEGRATION to SERVICE)
- Small groups as a microcosm of church life – discovering gifts, doing mission, growing, pastoral care – as we become a church OF small groups.
- Deepening the understanding of our identity (Wholeness in Christ).
Target: Every member knowing where they are on the spiritual pathway, and where they are heading
Through…
- “Reaching” – Growing our church
- Developing a ‘mission’ mindset (in Andover and beyond)
- Launching new expressions (pub-church, multiple-congregations)
- Every member and attendee sharing their faith where they are
- Offering a missional dimension to small groups
Target: Breaking through the 500-membership barrier (details to follow!)
- “Renewing” – Transforming our Community
- Becoming a key strategic player in our community, by being a prophetic voice and serving our community (in partnership with key town-wide bodies: ACT / Hope Andover, Community Development Action Group, Vision for Andover, etc..)
- Ongoing research and review to be involved in strategic projects (e.g. Befrienders, Freedom from Addictions, Mental Health)
- Every member being a friend, a good neighbour where they are.
- Offering ongoing volunteer training and retention
Target: Every member involved in community renewal through either one-off or ongoing actions
- “Resourcing” – Equipping the Body of Christ
- Producing quality multimedia audio-visual material (including relevant and effective website)
- Ongoing leadership development and training within ABC, extending this on to Leadership Empowerment and Development program to wider audience
- Antioch ministry: sending out ministry teams, and resourcing local fellowships and groups, international initiatives
Target: 10/10 Challenge
(10 missionaries/ministers/church workers in 10 years)
